These pins are stronger than both 316 and 18-8 stainless steel pins. They are precision ground for accurate alignment, and sized to be at the nominal diameter or larger for a tight fit. They are passivated to guard against oxidation and they are magnetic. To aid insertion, the ends are beveled or rounded. Pins are commonly used as pivots, hinges, shafts, jigs, and fixtures to locate or hold parts. For a tight fit, your hole should be equal to or slightly smaller than the diameter shown. Breaking strength is measured as double shear, which is the force required to break a pin into three pieces.
